Candidates are invited to appear before selection committee in the walk-in-interview for filling up the purely temporary positions of one Research Associate (RA-III) and one Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in the DBT project entitled “Nitric oxide signaling in response to Botrytis cinerea infection tomato fruits”, under the supervision of Dr. Subhra Chakraborty, Scientist, NIPGR and Dr. Jagadis Gupta Kapuganti, Scientist, NIPGR.


Junior Research Fellow (one Post): Emoluments as per DST/DBT norms and as sanctioned in the project.


Essential Qualification: Candidate having M.Sc. (with minimum of 60% marks) in Biotechnology/Biochemistry/Plant Science/Life Sciences/Bioinformatics are eligible for interview. Candidate having research experience in Molecular Biology, Protein Chemistry and Proteomics study with research papers in the journals of International repute in relevant field will be given preference.


Research Associate (RA-III) (one post): Emoluments as per sanction and DST/DBT norms

Eligibility: Candidates having doctorate (Ph.D.) degree in the discipline of Life Sciences/Biotechnology/Biology or equivalent with strong publication record are eligible for interview. The candidates must have knowledge in tissue culture, cloning, transformation, transcript analysis with publications to support the same. An experience on working with solanaceous crop plants is desirable.

The fellowship amount for the above positions is at par with the similar fellowships by DST/DBT or as sanctioned in the project. The above positions are completely on temporary basis and co-terminus with the project/scheme. The initial appointment will be for one year or till the tenability of the project/scheme whichever is earlier, which can be curtailed/extended on the basis of assessment of the candidate's performance and discretion of the Competent Authority. NIPGR reserves the right to select the candidate against the above post depending upon the qualification and experience of the candidate. Reservation of posts shall be as per Govt. of India norms. The appointment may be terminated any time by giving on month notice by either side. The applicants will have no claim implicit or explicit for consideration against any regular position of NIPGR.

  1. Laboratory Assistant (one Post): Consolidated emoluments of Rs. 15000/- per month.

Essential Qualification: Candidate having B.Sc. degree in agriculture and plant science with minimum of 7 years working experience in government R&D laboratory assisting in the field of molecular biology, gene cloning, RNA and protein work.


The above position is completely on temporary basis and co-terminus with the project/scheme. The position is purely temporary and are co-terminus with the project. The initial appointment will be for one year, which can be extended/curtailed on the basis of assessment of the candidate’s performance and discretion of the Competent Authority. Eligibility: Candidates having doctorate (Ph.D.) degree in the discipline of Life Sciences/Biotechnology/Biology or equivalent with strong publication record can apply. The candidates must have knowledge in structural biology with publications to support the same. An experience on working with membrane proteins is desirable


2. DBT project entitled “Plant Analytical Platform for Phytohormones and Low Abundant Molecules”, (PAPM) under RRSFP.

Technical Assistant: TA (One post): Emoluments as per sanction and DST/DBT norms.

Eligibility: The candidate must possess M. Sc./M. Tech. degree in Biochemistry/Biotechnology/Chemistry or a related field (minimum 60% marks), duly supported with research work. The candidates having prior work experience in metabolomics (LC-MS, GC-MS) will be preferred. The candidate will be involved in day-to-day running of the metabolome facility
