Position for Research Associate (RA) under Dr. Debasis Chattopadhyay

Applications are invited from suitable candidates for filling up one position of Research Associate (RA) in the Institute with Dr. Debasis Chattopadhyay, Scientist, NIPGR, in the scheme of "Short-Term Research Fellowship" programme. The position is completely on temporary basis with maximum duration of three years. The initial appointment will be for a period of one year, which can be curtailed or extended based on the performance of the candidate and discretion of the Competent Authority.

Qualification: Candidates having Ph. D. in any field of Biological Sciences with specialization in Computational Biology, bioinformatics preferably with an experience of working in genomics. Working experience in Linux Operating System is required.

The Fellowship amount for the position will be given at par with the similar fellowships by DBT/DST.
NIPGR reserves the right to select the candidate against the above post depending upon the qualifications and experience of the candidate. Reservation of post shall be as per Govt. of India norms.

Position for Research Associate (RA) under Dr. Naveen C. Bisht  

Inviting applications for NIPGR Short-term Research Fellowship Programme

Applications are invited from suitable candidates for filling up one position of Research Associate (RA) in the Institute with Dr. Naveen Chandra Bisht, Scientist, NIPGR, in the scheme of "Short-Term Research Fellowship" programme. The position is completely on temporary basis with maximum duration of three years. The initial appointment will be for a period of one year, which can be curtailed or extended based on the performance of the candidate and discretion of the Competent Authority.

Qualification: Candidates having Ph. D. degree (awarded) in Life Sciences with experience in Plant Molecular Biology/Biochemistry/Biotechnology are eligible to apply. Candidate having experience in plant breeding, plant transformation techniques (particularly Brassica juncea), analysis of transgenic plants, handling statistical data analysis and having research publications will be given preference.

The candidate will be working towards understanding the molecular-genetic regulation of glucosinolate biosynthesis and transport process in Brassica Crops.

Applications are invited from suitable candidates for filling up the purely temporary position of one Research Associate (RA) in the DBT Multi Institutional Project entitled "Towards identification, isolation and characterization of Exobasidium vexens strains and their pathogenic determinants/effectors, from blister blight infested tea-plantation of Assam and development of a future roadmap for effective management practices", under the supervision of Dr. Praveen Verma, Scientist, NIPGR.


Research Associate (RA-I) (one post):      Emoluments as per DST/DBT norms & as sanctioned in the project.


Qualification:            Candidates having Ph.D degree in any discipline of Life Sciences with excellent publication records are eligible to apply. Candidates having prior experience in plant/fungal genomics will be preferred.

Position for Research Associate (RA), Junior Research Fellow (JRF), Lab/Field Assistant under Dr. Mukesh Jain

Applications are invited from suitable candidates for filling up the purely temporary positions of one Research Associate (RA) and one Junior Research Fellow (JRF) and one Lab/Field Assistant in the DBT Sub-Project 1 entitled “Exploring transcriptome dynamics of chickpea development for candidate gene discovery and defining regulatory elements/modules under the supervision of Dr. Mukesh Jain, Scientist, NIPGR. 

Research Associate (one post): Emoluments as per DST/DBT norms & as sanctioned in the project

Qualification: Candidates having Ph.D. degree (awarded) in Life Sciences/Molecular Biology/Bioinformatics or related field are eligible to apply. Candidates having experience in the area of protein biochemistry, advanced molecular biology and genomics techniques will be preferred. The candidate should have good academic record and relevant research experience as evidenced from published papers in standard refereed journals.

Junior Research Fellow (one post): Emoluments as per DST/DBT norms & as sanctioned in the project

Qualification: Candidates having M.Sc. degree or equivalent (with minimum 55% marks) in Life Sciences, Biotechnology/Bioinformatics/Molecular Biology or any other related field are eligible to apply. The Candidate having computer skills (Linux, Perl, Java, MySQL) and/or experience in advanced molecular biology techniques, will be given preference.

Lab/Field Assistant (one Post): Consolidated emoluments of . 15000/- per month.

Qualification: Candidates should have Matriculation (10th passed) certificate with experience of working in research laboratories.

The positions are purely temporary and are co-terminus with the project. The initial appointment will be for one year, which can be extended/curtailed on the basis of assessment of the candidate’s performance and discretion of the Competent Authority. The eligible candidates may further be shortlisted based on the qualification/experience depending on the total number of applications received. NIPGR reserves the right to select the candidate against the above post depending upon the qualification(s) and experience of the candidate and researve the right to relax any of the qualification(s) in case the candidate is found otherwise well qualified by the Selection Committee. Reservation of post shall be as per Govt. of India norms.
